End of Summer Session…

So I ended up with 87 cardinal dollars (overpriced fake money that I had to pay for with real money)… which is only usable at the mediocre tressider express eating place here for the summer. Also, only $50 of it rolls over to the next year. So I went on a 37-dollar shopping spree! Here’s what I bought:
- 4 bottles of Naked juice (various flavors)
- 3 bags of kettle chips (various flavors)
- 4 candy bars (various kinds)
- 12 cookies from Subway (various kinds)
- 1 snickers ice cream bar (which is already in my stomach

How does this measly list amount to $37, you say? Well……. things here at Stanford are overpriced. Sure, financial aid is generous… but this is where they get ya. Stupid expensive food…
- a bottle of Naked ~$4
- a bag of kettle chips ~$1.33
- a candy bar ~$1.25
- 12 cookies from Subway ~$5 (this is the only good deal, those delicious cookies)
- 1 snickers ice cream bar ~$2

Only thing keeping me from staying the hell out of that place is the fact that I’m not actually forking out physical cash… Actually and also that everything else on campus is overpriced too. Lame.

Yay! I can’t possibly eat all of this… so I’m going to be sharing it with some friends (Alex, Peiley, Amira, Tiffany), if they don’t leave for San Fransisco too soon. They’re in this 1 month long summer program called ALC (American Language and Culture), in which they are hosts to a shit-ton* of international students from Taiwan, Korea, and Japan. (the chinese kids couldn’t make it because of some visa problems). They’re actually college students also, mostly ranging from 18-26 years old. This is the last week of the program, and they’re heading to San Fransisco today and staying there at the Clarion hotel, nice! Too bad I can’t join them… but I’ll see my friends in the fall hopefully often anyways.

So research with plants ends today… and I’m flying outta here on the 1st of September. I’ll be heading to Dallas, to stay Alex! I’ll be staying for about a week, visiting friends here and there, along with Mai, definitely. And I’ll be going back to Cookeville on the 7th… and finally relaxing for a mere 2 weeks (not even!) until I go back to Stanford on the 19th. Whew.

Alright, back to work!

*A “shit-ton,” as Peiley defines it, is used to describe more than 3 of something… haha.
